Mike Lamach

Michael W. Lamach
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

 Michael W. Lamach was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ingersoll Rand in June 2010, having previously been named Chief Executive Officer in February 2010 and President and Chief Operating Officer in February 2009.

Lamach joined Ingersoll Rand in February 2004 as president of the company's Security Technologies sector and became president of Trane Commercial Systems after the acquisition of that business in 2008.

Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Mike was group vice president and managing director for the European, Asian, South African and South American businesses of Johnson Controls' Automotive Group. Before that, he served as vice president and general manager of the Controls Group, leading the company's integrated facilities management business. During his 17-year tenure with Johnson Controls, Mike also held positions in sales management, marketing and new product development.

Mike received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Michigan State University and a master's degree in business administration from Duke University.  He serves on the Board of Directors of Iron Mountain Inc.
   

Marcia J. Avedon
Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Communications


Marcia J. Avedon joined Ingersoll Rand in February 2007 as senior vice president, human resources and communications.

Marcia came to Ingersoll Rand from Merck & Co. where she had company-wide responsibilities for all human resource strategies, programs and policies globally. She served in that role from 2003 – 2006 and prior to that she was vice president, talent management and organization effectiveness for Merck.

Over seven years Marcia held a variety of HR and Communications leadership positions with Honeywell (formerly AlliedSignal) including vice president, corporate human resources, vice president, human resources and communications for the Performance Polymers & Chemicals business group and director, organization and leadership development for the Engineered Materials sector. Marcia also served as a board member for Lincoln National Corporation and the board president for a non-profit agency, Jersey Battered Women's Services.

Marcia also held corporate and division human resources and organization development roles with Anheuser-Busch Companies. She began her career with Booz-Allen & Hamilton, spending six years as a management consultant specializing in human capital and organizational development practices.

Marcia holds a M.Phil., and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from George Washington University, as well as a B.A. in psychology from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. In January 2011, she was appointed to the Board of Directors for the United Way of Central Carolinas.  Marcia also serves on the advisory boards for Cornell University's Center for Advanced Human Resources Studies, University of North Carolina – Charlotte’s Belk College of Business and Rutgers' Center for Human Resource Strategy. She is a member of Women Corporate Directors, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, HR50, and the HR Policy Association. 
 
 

Paul Camuti

Paul Camuti
Senior Vice President, Innovation and Chief Technology Officer

Paul Camuti was named Senior Vice President, Innovation and Chief Technology Officer in August 2011.

Paul joined Ingersoll Rand from Siemens Corporation, where he served in senior leadership roles for more than 16 years. Paul most recently served as President of Smart Grid Applications for Siemens Energy Inc., where he focused on the development and delivery of Smart Grid products, services and solutions across the entire energy conversion chain. Previously, Paul was President and CEO of Siemens Corporate Research, one of several Siemens Corporate Technology innovative research centers worldwide. Additional experience includes leadership roles with Siemens Energy and Automation, where he founded the company’s Industrial Software business, as well as work with Eaton Corporation, Cutler Hammer and Westinghouse Electric.

Paul received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, and completed the Siemens Advanced Management Program at The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, NC. 
  

 

John W. Conover IV
Senior Vice President and President, Security Technologies

John W. Conover IV was named Senior Vice President and President of Ingersoll Rand’s Security Technologies Sector in July 2009.   

John brings over 30 years of knowledge and experience working within the commercial building marketplace.  Most recently, John served as President of Trane Commercial Systems-Americas where he successfully drove the business’s evolution from being primarily an equipment provider, to becoming an integrated systems, services and controls business.

John joined Trane in 1977 as a sales engineer based in Detroit, Michigan, and later became sales leader.  He was promoted to district manager for Columbus/Cincinnati in 1994.   In 2002 John was named vice president, Americas Distribution.  In 2008 he was named president, Trane Commercial Systems-Americas.  John also leads Ingersoll Rand’s sustainability strategy council.

John holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.  

 

Steve Hagood

Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Steve Hagood joined Ingersoll Rand in January 2013 as vice president and chief information officer (CIO).

Before joining Ingersoll Rand, Steve served as vice president and CIO at Goodrich Corporation since 2003.  With 30 years of experience, Steve has worked in executive roles in the aerospace and defense, manufacturing and service industries. In 1993, he began working for Goodrich Corporation and held increasing levels of responsibilities in a variety of finance and  IT positions. Earlier in his career, he worked for Fisher Controls International and Capitol City Savings in Austin, Texas.

Steve earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a certified public accountant in the State of Texas. 

 

Robert L. Katz

Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Bobby Katz joined Ingersoll Rand as senior vice president and general counsel in November 2010.

Bobby joined Ingersoll Rand from Federal-Mogul Corporation where he was senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer. Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Bobby was general counsel and regional compliance officer for Delphi Corporation’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations, headquartered in Paris, France. In his seven-year tenure with Delphi, Bobby established and led the EMEA legal department, following Delphi’s spin-off from General Motors in 1999.

From 1996 to 1998, Bobby served as assistant general counsel for General Motors (Europe) AG, at its European headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. As a member of the General Motors legal staff serving all European operations, he focused on transactions and investments in Eastern Europe. Bobby began his career as an associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy from 1986 to 1995 where he worked in the M&A and General Corporate Group, both in New York and London, and advised public and private companies on a variety of corporate transactions, including cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, corporate restructurings and international securities offerings.
 
Bobby earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1986, graduating magna cum laude. 
  

Gary Michel

Senior Vice President and President, Residential Solutions

Gary Michel was named President, Residential Solutions in August 2011.

Gary joined ingersoll Rand in 1985 as an Application Engineer and subsequently held product, sales and business management roles. Most recently he was Chief Executive Officer of Ingersoll Rand's Club Car business where his demonstrated leadership has driven growth and customer loyalty for our Club Car brand.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
  

Steve Shawley

Steven R. Shawley
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer *

Steven R. Shawley was named Chief Financial Officer following the acquisition of Trane in June 2008. Previously, Steve was named Senior Vice President and President of the Climate Control Technologies Sector in August 2005.  Steve joined Ingersoll Rand in 1997 through the acquisition of Thermo King, a business of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he was vice president and controller. He became corporate controller of Ingersoll Rand in May 1998 and became a vice president of Ingersoll Rand in June 1999.  In August of 2002, Steve was named President of Thermo King North America. A year later, he became President, Climate Control Americas.

As vice president and controller of Thermo King, Steve had responsibility for all finance, information technology and treasury activities. Prior to Thermo King, he held numerous other key financial positions with Westinghouse in a career that spaced over 20 years. He served as controller of several major divisions and plants with broad financial and commercial responsibilities for operations throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as North America.

Steve received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
   

Jeff Song

President Ingersoll Rand China

Jeff Song joined Ingersoll Rand in August 2004 as president, Ingersoll Rand China.

He joined Ingersoll Rand from Honeywell International, where he was the managing director and general manager for Honeywell China Co. Ltd. He joined Honeywell in 1988 and held a variety of positions in both China and the United States, including sales and marketing director for AlliedSignal Aerospace, general manager of Honeywell CATIC Engine Co. Ltd. and general manager of Honeywell CRIAA Aero Accessories Company. Jeff spent the early part of his career in engineering at Shuicheng Steel Company.

He holds an undergraduate degree in materials engineering and two masters degrees from universities in China and Canada, as well as a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.
   

Didier Teirlinck

Didier Teirlinck
Senior Vice President and President of Climate Solutions Sector

Didier Teirlinck was elected senior vice president and named president of the Climate Control Technologies sector in June of 2008. Prior to his new role, Didier was president of Climate Control – Europe, a position held since joining Ingersoll Rand 2005.

Before joining Ingersoll Rand, Didier was the president of the Compact Business Line worldwide for Volvo Construction Equipment beginning in 2000. Previously, Didier was General Manager of DANISCO Flexible Group for Southern Europe.

Didier received a Diploma of “Ingénieur Civil des Mines” from Ecole des Mines de Nancy, France. He also received a Diploma of “Docteur-Ingénieur” in Physics & Chemistry of Materials from University of Nancy 1,  and a McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Ph.D. of Metallurgy & Materials Science.
   

Venkatesh Valluri

Venkatesh (Venky) Valluri
President Ingersoll Rand India

Venkatesh Valluri joined Ingersoll Rand in May 2009 as president, Ingersoll Rand India. In March 2010, he was elected Chairman of the Ingersoll Rand management board in India.

Before joining Ingersoll Rand, Venky was associated with the global measurement technology leader company, Agilent Technologies, as its president and country manager for over 5 years. He successfully established a strong footprint for Agilent’s India region business operations. Prior to Agilent he held various leadership roles at GE (General Electric) in India and abroad.

Venky also serves on the board of United Way India.

Venky holds a bachelor’s degree in Technology (Electronics) and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
  

Todd Wyman Todd Wyman

Senior Vice President, Global Operations and Integrated Supply Chain

Todd Wyman is senior vice president, Global Operations and Integrated Supply Chain, effective November 16, 2009. 

Todd joined Ingersoll Rand from General Electric (GE), where he was an elected officer and vice president of Global Supply Chain for GE Transportation, responsible for global manufacturing, sourcing, and distribution.  Prior to that, he was general manager, Global Supply Chain for GE Transportation.  Todd joined GE’s Manufacturing Management Program in 1989, and progressed to increasingly more responsible roles in operations, sourcing and general management across several GE businesses, including Power Systems, Electrical Distribution & Controls, and Industrial Systems. 

Todd holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA.
 
 

Robert Zafari

Robert G. Zafari
Senior Vice President and President, Industrial Technologies Sector

Robert G. Zafari was named president, Industrial Technologies sector on July 1, 2010. 

Zafari has 13 years of experience with Ingersoll Rand, most recently as president, Climate Solutions, Europe, Middle East, India and Africa region.  Prior to this role, Robert served as president of Trane for this region.

Before Ingersoll Rand's acquisition of Trane, Robert led Ingersoll Rand's Security Technologies business and was president of the Compact Vehicle Technologies sector, and earlier was vice president, productivity solutions and general manager for Industrial Technologies.

Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Robert was global key account director and general manager in the low-voltage business areas of ABB.  Before that he served as key account director at Texas Instrument semiconductor division and his first work experience was in sales with Legrand.

Robert received a bachelor's degree in business administration from SIU in London, UK, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of San Diego, CA.

Larry Kurland
Vice President - Tax

Larry Kurland joined Ingersoll Rand in June 2006, as vice president – tax. Larry has the responsibility for all aspects of tax and the global tax organization, and serves as a key member of the corporate finance team.

Prior to Ingersoll Rand, Larry worked at AT&T Corp. for 15 years, where he was vice president – taxes and tax counsel.  Before joining AT&T, Larry spent 7 years practicing tax law, including 5 years with the firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was responsible for the tax aspects of a variety of complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, financings, reorganizations, spin-offs and recapitalizations.

Larry received a bachelor of arts degree from Franklin & Marshall College in 1979.  He also received a J.D. degree from George Washington University and a Masters in Tax Law (L.L.M.) from Georgetown University.

  

Barbara A. Santoro
Vice President - Corporate Governance and Secretary *

Barbara Santoro was elected vice president - corporate governance and secretary of Ingersoll Rand in December 2004.  Before being named vice president, she was deputy general counsel - transactions and assistant secretary, and prior to being deputy general counsel, she was assistant general counsel for the company.

Barbara joined Ingersoll Rand in 1996.  Before joining Ingersoll Rand, she served as associate general counsel at Degussa Corporation and was an attorney at the law firms of White & Case and Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O'Donnell and Weyher in New York.

Barbara received a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University in 1979.  She also earned a juris doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1984.

Barbara holds membership in the American Bar Association, the American Counsel Association and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries.

 

Patrick Shannon
Vice President and Treasurer

Patrick was appointed vice president and treasurer in August 2012. Prior to his current role, he was vice president, Audit Services, and prior to that he was vice president, Finance and Information Technology, for Trane Commercial Systems. Patrick joined Ingersoll Rand in 2002 as vice president of finance for the Infrastructure Sector, and then later assumed the role in the Construction Technologies Sector.  Patrick also has held the position of executive director, strategy and business development, and was elected vice president in 2007.

Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Patrick was senior vice president and chief financial officer for OneCoast Network Holdings and, before that, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer for AGCO Corporation. He started his career with Arthur Andersen LLP. Patrick earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Mercer University. He also is a Certified Public Accountant.


 

Richard J. Weller
Vice President and Corporate Controller*

Richard J. Weller was elected Vice President and corporate controller in September 2008.  Prior to his current role, Rick served as Vice President Integration, responsible for the finance integration of Trane.  Rick joined IR in May 2005 as Vice President Finance for the Security Technologies sector, and held that position until June 2008.

Prior to joining IR, Rick spent 17 years with Textron where he held a number of finance leadership positions including Vice President Finance Shared Services and CFO of the Industrial Products segment, and the Fastening Systems business. 

Before joining Textron, Rick held increasingly responsible finance management positions with Litton Industries and Aviall, Inc.

Rick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from LeMoyne College, and has completed Executive Development programs at both Harvard and Wharton Schools of Business.
