Industrial Sales Development Program

 

Ingersoll Rand's Industrial Sales Development program is a 12-15 month program designed to prepare participants for a career as a sales engineer. This rotational program is offered to college graduates holding a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution or a related field, with a 2.9 GPA or higher.

As a participant, you will complete two rotations geared toward building your skills and knowledge as a sales engineer, and developing your ability to consult, problem-solve and design solutions for a wide variety of our Industrial customers.

Your first rotation will take place at our Davidson, North Carolina location. During this 4-month assignment, you will experience comprehensive training and project experience designed to expose you to all aspects of our industrial business, including: product knowledge; manufacturing; engineering; customer care; sales and marketing; aftermarket services; distribution; pricing; strategic accounts; and various other aspects of our business in support of our sales team and customers. You'll work directly with sector leaders, and will be assigned a business executive as a mentor.

During your second rotation, which will be at one of our 33 Customer Center locations nationwide, you will gain hands-on experience and build customer relationship skills as you job-shadow experienced sales engineers, call on customers and participate in selling our products and services.

Your training and experiences during the program will be highly visible to Ingersoll Rand senior leaders, and upon successful completion of the program you will be assigned your own sales territory in a sales engineer role.

To qualify for consideration, you should have a strong technical aptitude and a solutions-selling mindset; solid teamwork skills; excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills; and an ability to relocate geographically. Previous internship and leadership experiences are preferred but not required.
