CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) -- Ingersoll Rand sold 112 air compressors for use during the 40th celebration of the recent WorldSkills competition in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
WorldSkills is a global skills, trades and technology competition that promotes excellence and the spirit of sportsmanship. More than 900 young men and women from 54 countries competed in 45 different skill categories, including auto-body repair, car painting, welding, construction, plumbing and computer numerical control milling. The Ingersoll Rand air compressors, ranging from 2 to 30 horsepower, provided the air needed to operate tools, spray paint, cut tubing, drive bolts and assemble steel structures.
"This was truly a team effort to work together to deliver, install and setup the compressors in record time for this event," said Don Rodriguez, customer care account specialist for Ingersoll Rand. "We all appreciate the confidence that WorldSkills placed in us for this event and we were happy to deliver." The team working on this event included Air Force Compressed Air Systems, an Ingersoll Rand distributor in Calgary, as well as employees from Ingersoll Rand's facilities in Campbellsville, KY, and Davidson, NC.
After the competition, WorldSkills will donate all of the compressors to local high schools, trade schools and colleges. |
