MOCKSVILLE, NC (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) -- More than 50 members of the Association of Ingersoll Rand Distributors (AIRD) recently toured the Industrial Technologies facility in Mocksville, NC. Conducted as part of the group's weeklong annual meeting at Ingersoll Rand's nearby Davidson campus, the tour highlighted the significant investment and support of Ingersoll Rand and Davie County in establishing the Mocksville facility as an Ingersoll Rand Center of Excellence. During the tour, the group saw the remodeled compressor assembly and test areas and gained insight into efficiencies generated by having the assembly area integrated with the airend manufacturing facility.
"Mocksville has had an amazing transformation over the past year or two," said Shawn Chambers, Industrial Technologies vice president, distribution, for the Americas Region. "We wanted our key distributors to have the opportunity to see firsthand the investment we are making in enhancing and modernizing our compressor manufacturing in order to better address and meet their requirements and the changing needs of our customers."
AIRD President Pat Manning said that Ingersoll Rand's effort and expense to modernize the Mocksville facility were definitely apparent. "The company's implementation of a world-class machining and assembly facility reassures me of Ingersoll Rand's customer focus and ongoing commitment to provide quality products and services to the distributor channel."
Organized in 1970 to serve as a central resource and management voice for distributors of Ingersoll Rand compressed air system equipment, AIRD member distributors employ nearly 1,700 people. On average, AIRD distributor employees have more than 10 years of experience in the compressed air industry. Most AIRD service technicians hold multiple Ingersoll Rand factory certifications, and member distributors typically have in excess of 10 vehicles on the road to serve customer needs. |
