WEST CHESTER, PA (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) -- Ingersoll Rand's West Chester, PA, facility is marking its 50th anniversary this year as a manufacturer of compressed air treatment equipment. A special lunch was recently held at the facility to commemorate the occasion. Past and present employees shared stories and celebrated the organization's successes during the past 50 years.
"West Chester is the Americas' Center of Excellence for air treatment,” said Marc Dufour, Industrial Technologies Sector (ITS) president, Americas Region, who attended the celebratory luncheon. "The history of this organization is a celebrated one and is well respected in the industry. Achieving this milestone is definitely something of which to be proud."
In addition to Ingersoll Rand air treatment products, the facility, which was acquired by Ingersoll Rand's Industrial Technologies Sector in 2006, manufactures ZEKS-branded compressed air solutions. In 1959, ZEKS introduced the world's first cycling refrigerated air dryer, which remains the standard by which others are measured.
Throughout its 50-year history, the West Chester facility has developed innovations that helped minimize the cost of air treatment while maximizing the reliability of air systems. Among those innovations was the corrugated, folded stainless steel heat exchanger that adds efficiency and durability to refrigerated dryers.
"Each of us can be proud of our contributions and how we have expanded upon the idea of four men 50 years ago," said Robert Fisher, general manager, ZEKS, while speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration. "As an organization, we continue to remain a formidable force within the air treatment industry." |
