PISCATAWAY, NJ (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) – Ingersoll Rand has found a new home on YouTube, the immensely popular video-hosting website, by creating its own channel to share the company’s story with its global audiences. The Ingersoll Rand YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/IngersollRandplc) was created in late August, with the first set of videos – filmed on location at the company’s Davidson, NC, campus and Club Car’s Augusta, GA, facility – posted in early October.
“YouTube provides a tremendous platform to deliver Ingersoll Rand’s core messages to a broad audience in an engaging and – at times – entertaining way,” said Paul Dickard, director, external communications. “Compared to other communication tools, there’s more effort involved to develop these videos. But we believe the Ingersoll Rand YouTube channel will extend our reach with important information about the company’s commitments, progress and good works.
“Our goal is to create new videos on an ongoing basis to continuously educate our audiences across four core categories: Ingersoll Rand’s business platform – leadership in Safety, Comfort and Efficiency – innovation, operational excellence and sustainable business practices/corporate social responsibility. We know that we have great things to talk about across all of our businesses, and we look forward to presenting our story with fresh videos on a regular basis.
“We hope the reaction from the videos is a combination of ‘I didn’t know that’ and ‘I’m glad to know that.’ In addition, we’re relying on Ingersoll Rand people to tell our story in order to add personality and to showcase the terrific expertise we have across the company. And, finally, when it’s appropriate, we’re hoping to have some fun since the expectations for a YouTube video include an entertainment factor that goes beyond the straightforward approach of traditional corporate videos.” |
