| ST. PAUL, MN (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) -- Good times, great music and more than $6,000 for the Haiti earthquake relief effort were the result of a February 25 event hosted by the Trane St. Paul, MN, facility.
The idea for the event came from Kathi LaValle, Centralized Services leader in St. Paul, who got the bands together, got a local hotel to donate a ballroom to hold the event, and worked closely with the facility’s employee activities committee to put on the event. The evening featured musical groups made up of several Trane employees and silent auction items donated by employees and local organizations. Employee volunteers organized and staffed the event.
The event raised more than $3,000 through ticket sales, the silent auction and a $500 donation from one of the bands, The Cruisers. With a match of contributions from Climate Solutions, more than $6,000 is going to the American Red Cross Haiti relief effort.
