ENERGY STAR® Buildings
ENERGY STAR is recognized as a symbol for high energy efficiency across many industries. From more than 50 products and new homes to commercial and industrial facilities, the ENERGY STAR label denotes a commitment to sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. ENERGY STAR was first introduced in 1999 in commercial buildings and has continued to earn recognition for strong environmental awareness since.
ENERGY STAR is awarded based on an energy performance rating system which compares a building to its peer group or similar buildings in the national population. If the building is among the top 25% of facilities in the country in energy performance it may be eligible for the ENERGY STAR label. In fact, Ingersoll Rand has four office buildings that have been awarded the ENERGY STAR label.
