Engineering ReLaunch

Our talented people set Ingersoll Rand apart from our competitors. That's why we're always on the lookout for outstanding candidates to join our Ingersoll Rand family.

We are already a leader when it comes to rewarding internships and career development programs, but few programs exist for professionals looking to rejoin the workforce in the critical mid-career stage.

Enter ReLaunch, a progressive new program we are piloting in Engineering & Technology. ReLaunch is a 12-week, paid professional "returnship" opportunity for engineers who have stepped away from their careers and are ready to put their passion back to work.

Not all careers follow the same path, and many talented professionals step away from the workplace for a period of time. Getting back into the game, especially in an engineering or technology-related field, can be challenging. We have an opportunity to help qualified engineers in the community relaunch their careers; at the same time, we are able bolster support for our projects and teams, and find and attract top talent in new ways.

Launching ReLaunch

We are currently recruiting ReLaunch candidates for a 12-week mechanical or electrical engineering returnship based in Davidson, N.C., starting in January 2019.

Who Qualifies?

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering work experience
  • BS or higher in an engineering field (mechanical, electrical, software preferred)
  • Voluntary career break for 2+ years
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in returning to a full-time role in engineering

What Will They Do?

This 12-week program provides professional development, mentoring, training, and networking for individuals ready to re-enter the workforce. ReLaunch professionals will work with senior engineers on challenging projects, tied to Ingersoll Rand's current products and new products. Responsibilities may include work in the following areas: component design, idea generation, project management, lifecycle engineering activities, quality improvements, engineering process development and improvement, and test objective setting and methodology. Participants will gain exposure to design intent and performance as well as an in-depth knowledge of our equipment, and product development process. Upon successful completion of the program, individuals will be considered for full-time employment.
