Accelerated Development Programs FAQs

In what countries or regions does the Accelerated Development Program exist?

There are Accelerated Development Programs in Europe, Asia, India and the US. ADP participants do rotations within their individual region.

Where are ADP assignments located in the US?

Assignments for our Accelerated Development Programs in the US may take place in the cities where Ingersoll Rand has headquarters facilities, including: Carmel, IN; Davidson, NC; Annandale, NJ; Minneapolis, MN; Augusta, GA; LaCrosse, WI; or Tyler, TX. They may also be located in any of our manufacturing facilities throughout the US.

Where are ADP assignments located in Europe?

Upon entering the program, ADP participants will rotate to multiple geographic and business units in Europe over 24 months.  The assignments could be located in any of the following countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Where are ADP assignments located in Asia?

Most ADP assignments in Asia are located in Shanghai, China (where Ingersoll Rand Asia Pacific headquarters are located). ADP assignments could also be in other locations where Ingersoll Rand operated, such as Wujiang and Taicang within China. In Spring 2012, a pilot was launched to host ADPs in Singapore.

Where are ADP assignments located in Mexico?

Mexico is our newest region for the Accelerated Development Program, and most assignments take place within the cities of Baja, Mexico City or Monterrey.

What are the requirements for ADP candidates?

To be considered for acceptance to an ADP, you must hold a degree required for the specific program, and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. You should have a minimum of two leadership experiences, such as a school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor or similar position and have at least two related internship experiences or 6 months of related work experience. You must also be geographically mobile. See program descriptions for specific requirements.

Applicants for an ADP in Europe should hold a Master degree for the specific program, with proven academic success record.  In addition, all ADP candidates must have the working knowledge of English, complimented by fluency (written and spoken) in Czech, German, French or Italian, a high level of geographic mobility, and a willingness to work abroad.

Should I apply by specific function, or just apply to the ADP in general?

You should apply to the ADP related to your specific function of interest – the one in which you have relevant working experience and/or education. If you don't have relevant working experience or education in the functional area for which you apply, you will not meet the eligibility requirements of the program.

What happens after my ADP rotations are completed?

Throughout the course of your program you will undergo development discussions with the program manager and advisor to determine the best path for you, given your career interests and goals. Towards the end of your last rotation several discussions will take place between you, your advisor and program manager, to determine your interests and align them with our business needs. In other words, you are actively involved in where you are placed – provided that we have a business need for you in a particular location or business that you are interested in.
