Employee since 1990
In my position I am responsible for a wide range of finance related functions at the Ingersoll Rand Corporate Center in Bangalore, India. The diverse challenges and opportunities I face have given me a very broad knowledge base, and allow me to constantly hone my skills relating to finance and treasury.
My roles include serving as financial controller for IRETC in
Bangalore, providing financial reporting to Ingersoll Rand in the
USA, handling company law compliance matters, and being involved in
treasury related activities such as building banking relationships
and investing surplus. I am also involved in audits of our annual
statutory accounts and quarterly accounts for stock exchanges, and a
wide range of tax related functions.
In the past, I’ve been able to gain great experience here in areas including credit control and collection of receivables, budgeting and forecasting, accounting of intercompany payables and receivables, and dealing with agreements and legal issues regarding the divestment of a business.
The culture and work atmosphere here are unique. The company has unquestionable ethical standards, and its policies are clear, specific and unambiguous. There is great respect among Ingersoll Rand people for each other and our customers, and there are always opportunities to interact with different people within different fields, both within and outside of the organization. Unlike many companies- who focus their training mainly on sales, engineering and production employees- Ingersoll Rand believes that staff in support functions, such as finance, are equally important to the success of the business, and the development opportunities for us here are great. This is an excelling organization to develop one’s career.
