As part of our company's efforts to promote sustainability and technological innovation, Ingersoll Rand Brazil is assisting in the establishment of the first international certification laboratory in Latin America for compressed air manufacturers and end users. The laboratory will provide manufacturers and end users with compressed air system certifications according to international regulations such as ISO 1217, ISO 12500 and ISO 8573 for air compressors, dryers, pneumatic installations and compressed air quality.
Called Laboratory of Compressed Air and Gases Systems (LASAG), the laboratory is co-sponsored by the Brazilian Machinery Builders' Association (ABIMAQ), the Institute for Technological Research at São Paulo University (IPT) and the Development Institute of the Machinery and Equipment Industry (IPDMAQ). The laboratory is located on the IPT campus, and a mobile unit is available to enable IPT field technicians to perform onsite acceptance tests, energy efficiency and compressed air quality analyses at industrial sites as well as hospitals.
As a partner in the project, Ingersoll Rand Brazil has provided air technology, knowhow and training, as well as an SSR one-stage compressor for this Certification Center.
