MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Thermo King held its first Thermo King Pride Day on July 28 at its Minneapolis facility to celebrate the brand’s history since 1938 and to focus on a future that includes a renewed emphasis on innovation and developing new, customer-driven products.
“There is a strong sense of culture within Thermo King and we wanted to celebrate our heritage and encourage employees to be proud of our name. This event created a renewed sense of pride and emphasized our commitment to the brand,” said Kim Thorsen, Thermo King brand leader.
Employees wore Thermo King’s colors: blue, black and white and sported Thermo King Pride buttons. Two, long-time Thermo King employees (with 92 years of combined service) raised Thermo King’s flag in a ceremony attended by hundreds of employees in front of the building. The group celebrated with an ice cream social after the ceremony.
In addition, the management team at Thermo King’s Minneapolis facility hosted a BBQ lunch for all employees to celebrate the 100 percent completion rate of the 2010 Employee Engagement Survey.
