NARODA, INDIA (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) -- Demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and the “Progress is Greener with Ingersoll Rand” message, the Industrial Technologies team in Naroda, India, recently planted more than 1,400 saplings as part of a massive “greening” drive in the city of Ahmedabad. (Ingersoll Rand’s campus and plant are located Naroda, an industrial zone in Ahmedabad).
Ingersoll Rand employees participated in this initiative jointly with the Naroda Industrial Association, the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industries – youth wing and the Rotary school. Saplings were provided by the state government of Gujarat.
Sandeep Gupta, Kunjal Trivedi, Bharat Devda and Garima Sharma coordinated this effort on behalf of Ingersoll Rand. Thanks to all the participating organizations' efforts, 917,000 trees were planted in Ahmedabad on a single day, with more than 34,500 saplings planted in the Naroda Industrial Area.
Talking about the greening drive, Jaideep Wadhwa, vice president and general manager, Industrial Technologies, said, “Our participation with other stakeholders in the city’s tree planting drive demonstrates our seriousness and commitment to sustainability. This event is another significant positive step in our environmental stewardship at Ingersoll Rand, where every single day is dedicated to green, energy-efficient practices.”
