Ingersoll Rand's leading role in China’s civil aviation security market was demonstrated yet again recently with the selection of Ingersoll Rand as the security system and hardware provider for the new Kunming International Airport. Security Technologies' Systems Integration China business will provide a closed-circuit television monitoring system, an access control system and an intrusion alert system. In addition, Ingersoll Rand will also provide Schlage locks, LCN and Falcon door closers and Falcon exit devices for the airport’s terminal building. This contract follows the successful installation of Ingersoll Rand security systems and hardware products at major airports in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, Changsha and Chaoshan.
Attending the contract signing ceremony were Commander Wu Fan and Assistant Commander Xiang Xuesong of the Kunming International Airport construction headquarters, officials from various departments and General Manager Jenny Wu, Vice President Li Hongbo and Marketing Director Huang Ying from Systems Integration.
The new Kunming International Airport is regarded as the fourth major hub-airport to be built in China, following Beijing Capital Airport, Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao Airport, and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. The 540-square-meter terminal building at Kunming International Airport will be the largest in the country.
