Women’s Employee Network for Latin America Celebrates Female Employees and Company’s New Partnership with Paradigm For Parity

The Women's Employee Network Latin America chapter (WEN LATAM) dedicated the month of March to celebrate International Women's Day, on March 8th, as well as the contributions Ingersoll Rand female employees make to the workplace. The chapter, which includes members from Latin America and from the office in Davidson, North Carolina, had great reasons to celebrate this year, said Patricia Correa, marketing manager for CTS and WEN LATAM co-chair.

"Ingersoll Rand has taken another step forward in advancing women in the workplace by joining the Paradigm for Parity," Correa said. "By joining this important effort, we are showing that Ingersoll Rand is fully committed to increasing leadership roles for women employees by 2020 as part of our global sustainability goals launched in 2014."

Sharing the Power of Working Together
WEN LATAM's various activities throughout the month of March included a webinar with the special participation of Laura Santana, a global solutions faculty member of the Center for Creative Leadership, an organization for leadership development. Laura's webinar, "The Power of Working Together," emphasized the importance of being part of a strong network, having a sponsor and knowing how to position yourself in your company in your path for growth in the workplace.

"Our goal is to create unity among women and their allies. We know professional growth may be challenging, but with the support of mentors and by promoting the achievements of our colleagues we can all shine and grow together," Correa said.

WEN LATAM Alliance
Another successful event was a Benchmarking Meeting at AIG (American International Group) in Brazil with WEN LATAM members Patricia Correa, Juliana Reinhardt, and Barbra Gonzalez. They met with representatives of AIG's network in Brazil called, "Todos pelas Mulheres & Aliados," where women and men actively support the greater inclusion of women in the workplace.

The meeting served as an excellent opportunity for members of the two groups to share information and resources, and to establish ways in which the two organizations might help each other. Ingersoll Rand shares the vision that a diverse place can be built in any company, of any size and anywhere, and that having people of diverse backgrounds makes the workplace richer and more sustainable.
