More than 120 China healthcare professionals – including architectural designers, hospital construction directors and China Ministry of Health officials – attended a seminar on Healthcare Architectural Design co-hosted by Security Technologies in Beijing.
The event highlighted Security Technologies' leadership position in the healthcare market by enabling architects, healthcare organizations and suppliers to work together to create safe, comfortable and efficient healthcare environments for hospital patients and staff.
David Zhu, China technical director for Security Technologies, spoke on the topic of "Safety and Security Solutions – Access Control Design for Healthcare Environments." He introduced international codes like HIPAA, NFPA 101 and ADA, and discussed national standards in fire and emergency escape. Also presented were our door hardware and access control solutions that meet hospitals' unique demands. Attendees expressed interest in the concept of life safety and hospital security, and asked questions about striking the right balance between safety and security. Our Von Duprin QEL exit device, Glynn-Johnson pull/push latch, Ives healthcare hinges and Normbau anti-bacterial handles were also on display.
Co-sponsoring the seminar were healthcare architectural design firm China IPPR and the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design. China IPPR provides services to 163 healthcare organizations, and has completed the design of over 220 projects and the contracting of over 90 projects in China. The design firm has also edited or participated in the compiling of 16 national design and construction standards, codes and standard drawings in the field of healthcare.
