DAVIDSON, NC(INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE) -- Ingersoll Rand tools and equipment will be featured in the show "Ultimate Car Build-Off," which premieres today, Monday, June 21, at 9 p.m. on the Discovery Channel. The partnership extends for the entire season, and Ingersoll Rand products will be featured as technicians work on the project cars.
Hosted by professional car builder Lou Santiago and North American Rally Champion Andrew Comrie-Picard “ACP,” the show was filmed in major U.S. markets. Each episode pits mechanics from two competing garages against one another to build the best vehicle in four days. Each garage receives a full set of Ingersoll Rand tools, gloves and accessories to support each build, which is delivered with the project materials at the beginning of each show. Garages compete to build vehicles like tank-tread semi trucks, underwater submersible cars, hovercrafts and other unique vehicles. The winner moves on to the next round in the bracket competition.
“Vehicle technicians use our tools and equipment every day on challenging applications, and they depend on us to be as productive as possible in the garage,” said Kevin Stamets, business manager for strategic channels with Ingersoll Rand. “This was a fun show to be involved with and a great way to showcase the speed and reliability of Ingersoll Rand tools when the pressure of the clock is against you.”
Garage teams used an extensive array of Ingersoll Rand power tools and equipment to build the cars, including impact wrenches, ratchets, surface preparation tools and even Club Car golf cars, which appear in the episode titled “Underwater Vehicle.”
Final project builds were showcased and judged by car designer Chip Foose, with the “ultimate” garage team winning a cash prize of $100,000 at the end of the season. Find more information on the show here.
