New version of Schlage LiNK's Starter Kit will tap into HVAC
The new version of the Schlage LiNK starter kit, which includes a Trane remote thermostat in place of the keypad lock along with the bridge and appliance module, was made available to Trane Comfort Specialist dealers on August 16, 2010.
ComfortLink Remote Thermostat uses the Schlage LiNK web interface -- the same as the traditional starter kit -- but is designed to tap into existing HVAC channels of distribution by emphasizing the remote-controlled thermostat.
“We’re excited about this new offering,” said Tim Farmer, who leads implementation of our ComfortLink Remote Thermostat solution. “Our initial research shows that dealers will be more comfortable integrating this version of ComfortLink solutions into their traditional HVAC offerings.”
Included with the purchase of the starter kit from a dealer is a subscription for six months of on-line monitoring.
“This new product offering is a great way for us to further link two of our strategic brands -- Trane and Schlage -- in the public eye,” added Farmer. “Plus, we promote collaboration between the two powerhouses of our brands with an important customer-facing channel, our dealers.”
ComfortLink Remote Thermostat is expected to hit retail stores sometime in 2011.
