Trane and Nexia Impress at AHR 2015

<p>Trane and Nexia Home Intelligence showcased the strength and integration of Ingersoll Rand brands at the International Air-conditioning, Heating and Refrigerating (AHR) Exposition Chicago. In a shared booth, Nexia and Trane shared intelligent solutions and showed how they work together.</p> <p>“The Trane TruComfort Variable Speed system and Nexia were the two standouts inside the Residential portion of the booth,” said Julie McLean, marketing communications leader. “The fact that homeowners can control our variable speed systems remotely with a Trane thermostat connected to Nexia Home Intelligence – and monitor the performance of that system remotely through Nexia Diagnostics – created a cohesive message that shows the strength and integration of our residential product portfolio.”</p> <p>An important part of the connectivity story told at AHR is the value and uniqueness of Nexia. Many other brands in the HVAC industry offer connected products, but in most cases they offer a limited set of devices that are linked only to a thermostat.</p> <p>“Booth visitors were blown away by the Nexia offering and the wide range of products that are compatible with our home automation system,” said Mark Schmidt, business development manager. “Nexia gives consumers the ability to control more than 200 different devices via a single app. In addition, attendees were excited about our expanded portfolio of Trane connected thermostats and their compatibility with Nexia Diagnostics, a tool that allows dealers access to live data showing how their customers’ systems are performing simply by connecting their thermostats to Nexia. Nexia Diagnostics will launch in the first quarter of 2015.”</p> <p>Nexia Diagnostics will give dealers the ability to see live data on their customers’ HVAC system performance via an online dashboard. Once subscribers opt in to share their data through their Nexia account, dealers will be able to diagnose and potentially fix problems remotely, ensure the right parts are brought to service calls, fix problems faster and improve overall customer satisfaction. These messages resonated strongly with booth visitors.</p> <p>“This is a really exciting time for our business,” Schmidt added. “The home automation market is growing tremendously. HVAC market is projected to be $128 million globally by 2017; the connected device market is expected to approach $300 million that same year.&nbsp; The feedback we’re getting from customers is that they want one app to control everything in the home, so when they see what Nexia can provide, they see that we really are a pioneer and a leader in this space.”</p> <p>Trane Commercial showcased new innovations including Trane Sintesis™ air-cooled chiller, one of the first products in the new Ingersoll Rand&nbsp;<a adhocenable="false" href="http://company.ingersollrand.com/ircorp/en/discover-us/sustainability/our-climate-commitment/EcoWise.html">EcoWise™</a> portfolio of products. These products are designed to lower environmental impact with next generation, low global warming potential refrigerants and high efficiency operation.</p> <p>Products that achieve the Ingersoll Rand EcoWise endorsement have an added validation of their sustainability and environmental performance. This is particularly important as our customers make choices on how and when to transition to next generation products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions within their operations.</p>
