Community Relations

We create a positive impact in communities around the world through our innovations and dedication to corporate citizenship and sustainability.

Through our innovations and dedication to corporate citizenship and sustainability, we seek to create a positive impact on societies throughout the world. Our products help conserve energy, improve user safety, enhance economic growth, increase the yield of the global harvest, and provide a host of other benefits to society. We continue to identify ways to improve the work we do, the products we make, and to meet our commitments to our customers, our colleagues and our communities.

Our focus on sound environmental, safety and health operating practices is leading to decreased use of hazardous substances; reduced waste and emissions; improved energy and water conservation; greater reuse and recycling of materials; and prevention of accidents and injuries across our operations. Our employees lead this effort within our facilities, and they extend their care and concern to the communities where we work by contributing donations and volunteering their time and services to provide assistance and relief to our neighbors in times of need.

We Volunteer

Ingersoll Rand has a long and proud history of supporting the good works of philanthropic organizations around the world. Each year, Ingersoll Rand contributes both time and financial support to the communities in which we live and work. We will continue to align our philanthropy and community outreach efforts with our core business strengths in efficiency, comfort, and safety.

We focus in areas such as food preservation, safe environments, and high performance buildings that provide optimum comfort and indoor air quality, research into ideal home and learning environments, improving energy efficiency, and more. Through these efforts, we are creating a meaningful difference in people’s lives and help to improve communities around the world.

Green Teams

One of our most successful engagement programs is our Green Teams which are volunteer groups of employees focused on reducing Ingersoll Rand’s environmental footprint and improving overall operations. Since being formalized in 2011, teams focus on awareness and education, as well as overall operations, and have long partnered with the community in efforts such as Habitat builds and park clean ups. Sites with Green Teams scored higher in the 2012 census survey than sites without Green Teams. The results of another recent engagement survey showed that employees who volunteer on Green Teams were less likely to look for a job elsewhere and more likely to refer a friend to Ingersoll Rand for employment. In 2013 this data was published in Andy Savitz’ book “Talent, Transformation, and the Triple Bottom Line.”

  • 2.4 million lbs of waste diverted from landfill
