Energy Efficiency Leader Award

The Energy Efficiency Leader Award showcases and recognizes the organizations that are dedicated to making the world a safer, better place to live. Each year, Trane presents its Energy Efficiency Leader Award to organizations that have shown significant achievements in efficiency and sustainability.

In 2017, Trane has recognized two organizations:

Grand Hyatt New York

In September, Trane recognized Grand Hyatt New York with the Energy Efficiency Leader Award. As one of New York City's iconic hotel properties and one of the first to support the NYC Carbon Challenge, Grand Hyatt New York made a commitment to sustainable practices with the help of NYSERDA and Con Edison.

The property recently completed building automation upgrades, supported by incentives from NYSERDA that dramatically improved the energy use of the 1,298 guest room hotel.

Tackling a project of this significance and magnitude illustrates Grand Hyatt New York's pledge to make New York City a more sustainable city. These energy savings will help Hyatt Hotels Corporation achieve their company's goals of reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission by 25 percent per square meter worldwide by 2020.

University of Florida

In August, Trane recognized the University of Florida for its commitment to providing a healthy, productive learning environment with minimal impact on the environment.

Trane congratulates leaders at both Grand Hyatt and the University of Florida leaders on truly demonstrating the ‘gold standard’ in leading sustainability for campus communities.

About the Award

The Energy Efficiency Leader Award is presented to organizations that have shown significant achievements in efficiency and sustainability. Ingersoll Rand businesses, Trane Commercial and Thermo King recognize and award organizations within the quality indoor environment industries and temperature-controlled transportation that have committed to more efficient and sustainable operations with the Energy Efficiency Leader Award.

The award was created to showcase and recognize the organizations that are dedicated to making the world a more sustainable and better place to live.
